MINDFUL PHYSIOTHERAPY
An innovative method based on the integration of the latest scientific evidence in physical therapy and the traditional discipline of yoga
Modern evidence-based physical therapy allows you to stay up-to-date on the most effective and least invasive practices for all kinds of problems
Yoga is an ancient discipline that is based on the holistic view of the individual, focusing on his or her uniqueness and need to be heard
Are you ready to find out what lies ahead? Let's get started!
FIRST ASSESSMENT
The initial physiotherapy visit is a fundamental part of the rehabilitation journey because it will allow me to understand what your expectations and real needs are.
Based on them we will build our project together.
The initial visit will be divided into two phases:
The interview, in which we will try to investigate your medical history and any factors that may have caused the onset of pain or the need to turn to me.
These questions are crucial because they will allow us to focus the physiotherapy intervention in a targeted wayThe objective examination, in which through a series of active and bedside tests I will assess the movements, postures, and structures that correlate with the pain symptoms
Many professionals tend to rush the initial examination or focus only on instrumental examinations such as X-rays, MRIs, etc.
Instead, I personally believe that your feelings are the most important factor from which to set up a program appropriate to your expectations and needs.
THE STAGES OF THE REHABILITATION PATHWAY
Manual therapy consists of a series of mobilization techniques, manipulation, and fascial treatments that are chosen according to the issue to be treated.
Manual therapy is useful for:
Decrease the pain (but without using medications)
Increase the mobility and all its benefits
Improve nerve conduction
Promoting a better flowing of the blood
Manual therapy can be very effective, but not alone.
All recent studies have shown that it needs to be combined with a targeted exercise program for the benefit to persist over the long term.
Manual Therapy
The most suitable course varies according to each person's characteristics and needs. Following the initial physiotherapy evaluation we will know which of these steps to start with so that you can get the most benefit in the shortest possible time
Exercise is the focal point of our therapeutic pathway.
Based on the initial assessment, we will be able to establish an exercise sheet tailored to your needs (kind of like the tailor sewing your dress on you).
The goal of the exercises will be to restore proper function of the muscles and segments that are causing pain. In particular, therapeutic exercise allows:
Increase elasticity and muscular strenght
Promoting greater body awareness
Improve posture in both static and dynamic activities
Improve balance and stability
The exercise program will consist of both strengthening exercises and postural exercises taken from yoga, but our first and foremost goal will be to bring attention back to our body to get it used to performing the correct movement even in my absence.
Therapeutic Exercise
This phase of the care pathway is often overlooked by many medical and physical therapy colleagues, but it is a critical part as it will provide you with the skills to be able to manage pain or do exercises properly outside of the clinic.
Remember that understanding your own symptomatology and the various solutions you can adopt during your daily life is the first step to improving your quality of life.
Therapeutic Education
GROUP COURSES
Therapeutic yoga is a branch of traditional yoga more focused on treating certain physical problems.
In this course we will use breathing techniques, specific postures (asanas) and guided meditations. Therapeutic yoga is particularly suitable for those who need work that goes beyond the physical sphere and thus integrates more of the mental sphere as well.
Yoga Therapy
The best way to avoid the recurrence of pain after physical therapy? Having fun together!
Clinical Pilates
Clinical Pilates is a discipline that takes inspiration from the true therapeutic origin of Pilates.
In fact, the primary purpose is to maintain optimal function of the muscles in terms of both elasticity and strength to prevent the recurrence of pain.
It is suitable both following physical therapy courses and for those who wish to take care of their bodies and improve their posture.
Clinical Pilates
